Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City arrival - Explore Sai Gon Culinary on Bike (Meals: Dinner)
Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, our guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in the center of Ho Chi Minh city. Free at your leisure on the rest of the day.
In late afternoon, join in our bike tour and explore the best of Sai Gon's foods. Saigon has long been rated one of the best cities for street food in the world. Let’s get on the bikes and give it a go to taste the most amazing dishes Saigon has to offer. This tour is tailored to give our foreign guests the most unique and authentic experience of Saigon’s cuisine. We will take you to the most popular eateries for locals, most of which are out of the touristy area and located in hidden alleyways. Besides the part of all delicious and unlimited food, you can also enjoy the city as we will zip around on the bikes from place to place for the dishes while receiving an insiders’ view into the culture that defines Saigon from our guides, who are so much passionate in showing you the bests of their city. Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnel (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch)
Cu Chi Tunnels, also called Iron Land, is a huge system of underground tunnels that stretched over 250 km. The network was like a secret city to supported war: storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, also included specially constructed living areas, command centers and innumerable of nightmare trap doors to defend itself. Visit Cu Chi Tunnel you'll be able to get an idea of what it would have been like to live, sleep and eat in the underground passages and bunkers during the fierce battles above and below the surface.
Around 8.00 Am, our guide and tour bus will pick you up from your hotel and depart to visit Cu Chi - a byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers, rooms and booby traps used during the war. You'll be able to get an idea of what it would have been like to live, sleep and eat in the underground passages and bunkers during the fierce battles above and below the surface. Return to the city for lunch at a tasty restaurant in the city centre.
In the afternoon, you'll discover the Reunification Palace - a blend of traditional ritual and modern architecture, served as the presidential palace of South Vietnam until reunification in 1975. The building now functions as a museum, offering tours of the former state rooms, presidential office and library, living quarters of the president's family, and underground war rooms. Then, you'll also visit the War Remnants Museum - one of the most sobering, yet popular, museums in the city. It highlights the suffering of the Vietnamese people at the hands of the French and American forces up to 1975, and while its perspective is less than perfectly balanced, its exhibits nonetheless are well designed and ably document the folly of war. You’ll find a collection of weapons, machinery, aircraft, tanks, artifacts and horrific photographs illustrating the devastating affects of napalm, Agent Orange and other weapons of mass destruction. Trip ends at your hotel around 5.30 - 06.00 Pm. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh – Cai Be – Tra On - Overnight on Mekong Cruise (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Around 08.00 Am in the morning, our guide and bus will come and pick you up at your hotel in center Ho Chi Minh (Our tour bus can only pick up from hotels in district 1, 3). The bus departs directly to Cai Be. Arrive Cai Be around 12h.00, you will board on boat. Enjoy welcome drink. Transfer to a local boat for an extensive visit of Cai Be: the floating market, the mazes of waterways, local pop-rice and sweets production. Visit of colonial buildings, old houses, delightful flower gardens and local coconut candy and rice paper manufacturers. The Cruise continues its cruise to Cochien . Lunch served on board.
Embark on a pleasant walk or cycle on the footpaths of the countryside to discover tropical fruit orchards and the local people's activities. Visit a cottage industry, a local farm and sample seasonal fruits. Leisurely cruise on the Mekong River while taking in the beautiful scenery. Enjoy an aperitif over the sunset. Dinner and overnight night on board.
Day 4: Tra On - Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch)
Enjoy your breakfast on board. The morning bobbling commotion of Mekong river life comes to life for another lovely day our boat set sails to Can Tho through tributary and canals. Check out your cabin and transfer to Cai Rang: one of the most bustling floating markets in Mekong. We go for a walk along the canals and the palm-shaded creek to see local houses and green orchards, ship building yards, rural and water activities in full swing. Boarding back at noon, with a welcome-back drink. Around 11.00 Am, Disembark in Can Tho. The bus will transfer you back to Ho Chi Minh city on 3.5 hour ride (Stop at half day for short break). Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.
Day 5: Ho Chi Minh Departure (Meals: Breakfast)
After having breakfast at your hotel, you will transfer to Tan Son Nhat international airport for your departure flight leaving Vietnam. End of services.
